The feed formula of beef cattle is one of the most important factors in the fattening process, and the preparation of concentrate feed has a direct effect on its growth and development. This paper will introduce the formula principles and precautions of beef cattle concentrate feed to help breeders optimize the effect of beef cattle feeding.

I. Preparation of concentrate feed
The preparation of concentrate feed mainly includes energy feed, protein feed, mineral feed, trace element and vitamin. Energy feed can choose corn, sorghum, barley, etc., accounting for 60%-70% of concentrate feed. Protein feed can use soybean cake (meal), cottonseed cake (meal), peanut cake, etc., accounting for 20%-25% of concentrate feed. According to the different growth stage, the addition ratio of soybean cake and cottonseed cake can be adjusted appropriately. The daily feeding amount of cottonseed cake (meal), soybean cake (meal) and peanut cake should not exceed 3 kg.
Mineral feed includes bone meal, salt, baking soda, trace elements and vitamin additives, generally accounting for 3%-5% of the concentrate feed volume. According to the growth stage of beef cattle, the amount of bone meal and salt can be adjusted appropriately. When using wine lees as the main roughage, an appropriate amount of baking soda should be added, and when feeding cattle with other roughage, 0.3-0.5% concentrate feed can be added according to the season.
Trace elements and vitamin additives generally need to be purchased from regular manufacturers and added in accordance with the instructions for use, and non-compliant products are strictly prohibited.

Two, concentrate feed preparation precautions
In the preparation of concentrate feed, it is strictly prohibited to add additives, sex hormones, protein assimilating hormones, psychotropic drugs, antibiotic filter residue and other drugs that are not allowed to be used by the State. The additives and drugs permitted by the State must be added in strict accordance with the regulations and must not exceed the limited content.
At the same time, it is strictly prohibited to use meat and bone meal as an ingredient in feed, and to ensure that the moisture content of feed does not exceed 14%.
Third, the application of pellet feed
By proportionally mixing concentrate feed and roughag feed to make granule full price feed for fattening cattle, it can improve weight gain effect, reduce feed waste, significantly shorten feeding time, reduce labor intensity of workers, improve labor efficiency, and reduce breeding costs.
The reference formula is 47.5% corn flour, 5% bran, 10% cottonseed cake, 1% additive, 0.5% salt, 1% bone meal, 35% wheat straw or grass meal.
