How should biomass pellets control water

In the production process of biomass pellets, the moisture content of raw materials plays a crucial role in pellet forming. Whether the moisture is too high or too low, it will affect the molding effect and quality of the particles. Too much water will lead to particles not easy to form, easy to fracture loose and crack, but also increase energy consumption. Too low moisture will lead to poor adhesion, the raw material is difficult to extrude, and ultimately affect the quality of the particles and produce a large amount of powder.

Therefore, controlling the moisture content of raw materials in the appropriate range is the real reason for the moisture requirement of raw materials in the work of biomass pellet machine between 13%-18%. So, how to accurately measure the moisture content of raw materials? Generally speaking, the moisture content of the raw material can be judged by the feel, and a professional moisture meter can also be used to detect it. It should be noted that there may be a slight difference between fluffy sawdust and slightly squeezed raw material at the time of measurement, so multiple points of monitoring and comparison of values are required.

For the problem of too high or too low moisture, there are several ways to adjust the moisture of raw materials, such as using drying equipment or natural drying to solve the problem of excessive moisture. Ensuring that the raw material moisture is within the appropriate range is a key step to ensure the production effect and quality of biomass pellets. Only in the case of appropriate moisture content, can ensure the final molding effect and quality of biomass particles.
